2b Design: A Creative Social Business in Lebanon Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

His wife and Raja Moubarak, Benedicte de Blavous, crafted their business venture around a focused societal assignment specifically, preserving disappearing art, buildings and tradition through artistic creations and employing people that were marginalized particularly the handicapped and the unemployable. By gathering and using wrought iron and wooden pieces, found in scrap yards, from old Lebanese houses dating back to the Ottoman Empire, 2b Design was able to maintain a heritage that was increasingly in danger of extinction while touching and improving disruptive lives and maximizing positive environmental impact and externalities through recycling and reusing scrap stuff.

2b Layout's assignment was eloquently articulated as to "restore the hidden beauty of the broken." By the broken, it referred to the Middle East's vanishing traditional heritage and to those folks whose socioeconomic status or incapacity hindered them from leading a decent life. 2b Layout's vision was to repeat precisely the same concept in different countries beyond the borders of Lebanon. The creators were eager on investigating various stations that would gradually scale the impact of their company while satisfying with the double challenge of long-term sustainability and transforming lives.
